Mission, Vision & History

Mission

The USTMAAA is a 501C-3 organization composed of Thomasian medical alumni graduates residing in the United States and Canada whose purpose is to unite alumni and support the educational and charitable projects of the USTMAAA, the USTFMS, and the UST Hospital.

Historical Perspective

UST Medical Alumni Association in America (USTMAAA)’s formation is credited to Dr. Jose L. Evangelista, who as Midwest Chapter president in 1986, envisioned uniting USTFMS alumni nationwide. In 1990, the USTMAAA Foundation launched with a $1 million Endowment Fund. Now in its third decade, the Foundation's endowment exceeds $8.5 million, with over $12 million in grants distributed since inception.
